DEF after name on Capas National Shrine Wall
Mar 28th, 2014, 9:16pm

I recently returned from visiting the Capas National Shrine looking for my Uncle's name who was a civilian when captured and died at Camp O'Donnell. I noticed the abbreviation DEF after a few names in place of  where the rank was for others. Anyone know what DEF stands for, and who determined whose names to be inscribed on the black marble wall? What data base was used? I did not see his name but I saw his grave at Libingan Na Mga Bayani (National Cemetery in Manila). Saw this name Renato Del Castillo DEF which may be my uncle Reynaldo R. Del Castillo. Example of known military is Rafael Castillo SGT.

Thanks.
