My dad was with the coastal artillary on Corregidor when he was captured. He later escaped and joined the Guerillas, are there records kept of these events, he escaped with Dominador Carballo and Miguel Estropia, his name is Hilario Sibala and is now 93 yrs old living in El Paso, Texas

Was your father in the Philippine Scouts?  The 91st and 92nd Coast Artillery (PS) were manned by Philippine Scouts.  You will find a partial list of survivors under the Scouts subject heading on this message board.

There also are stories of Scout artillerymen who escaped and fought with the guerrillas.  The most recent is based on an interview with then-Lt. Morris Shoss, 91st Coast Artillery.  It was printed in the Spring 2010 issue of the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society newsletter.

Lt. Shoss and his artillerymen escaped Bataan to Corregidor and fought there until the surrender in early May 1942.
