Hello Scouts and relatives of Scouts, it's an honor to be able to post on your web site.

My Great Uncle was LtGen Thomas John Hall "Trap" Trapnell. I was seeking to talk with or hear stories about my Great Uncle. He left an audio tape to my brother and recently I have been working on a project to detail his experiences. I was very honored to be allowed a chance to join your web site and hope anyone might be able to assist. I have amassed quite a few books on the 26th and have requested an FOIA for his war records. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Semper fi,
Maj.
I was saddened to hear the loss of another great warrior who joins a long list that fought gallantly for their country, but never received full recognition towards combat service.

I am also ashamed of my country for refusing Lt. Col. Edwin P. Ramsey recognition due last year. The system seemed to work when a few survivors of Bataan and Corregidor were repatriated during late 1945. They were properly processed and were awarded (but not limited to) the Bronze Star Medal (recipient of the Distinguished Unit Citation (Presidential Unit Citation); the BSM (First OLC) (recipient of the Combat Infantryman badge); and the CIB.

Guidelines were followed by the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve post WWII, awarding the BSM [with] the CIB to an untold number of veterans regardless of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and unit assignment.

The most recent veteran of Bataan and Corregidor was presented the CIB by Congressman Patrick Kennedy (RI) January 2003. The AAF veteran served with the First Provisional Air Corps Regiment during the battles.

While Colonel Ramsey was on the doorstep to a place only known by God, an attempt to continue the process that had been applied for so many years, failed. The Army Board denied Colonel Ramsey contrary to a list of items, including the U.S. Constitution. An appeal was submitted, but the veteran could wait no longer.

Perhaps he will be recognized for his earthly deeds by the Almighty.
